On the other, hungry Hornets eager to lock in a play‑in berth and ride a hot streak. Motivation? Completely different. Entertainment value? Pretty high.

In the California capital this season has been a slog. Stuck near the bottom of the West, the Kings have still managed two wins in their last five — almost miraculous given how inconsistent they’ve been. Bottom line: no defensive foundation, often hanging on opponents’ mistakes.

Charlotte Hornets: Top 6 in their sights 
Charlotte is buzzing. Seven wins in their last 10 and the play‑in spot is practically theirs. But appetite grows with success: coach Charles Lee (Hornets) has his team eyeing the Top 6, just four wins away. Their offense is clicking — 116 points per game — the defense has genuinely improved, and they’re drilling from deep while imposing themselves on the glass.
Their last outing was a squeaker in Portland. They won the rebound fight but the offense spluttered a bit, which was odd against the Blazers’ soft defense. Expect them to clean that up tonight, let their ball movement breathe, and get back to the fluid offense we’ve seen recently.

Expect few stoppages, a lot of runs, and plenty of scoring. The line looks beatable — we’re taking the Over.
