Rijeka – Strasbourg : un huitième qui sent la poudre en Croatie 
This Thursday the Stadion HNK Rijeka puts on its best kit. Rijeka welcome RC Strasbourg for the first leg of the Conference League round of 16. Strasbourg sailed through the group stage and grabbed a direct spot; the hosts had to grind through the play-offs to get here.

This is dangerous ground for visitors. Under Victor Sanchez del Amo, Rijeka have shown they mean business. After a solid group stage — a stubborn 0-0 with Shakhtar Donetsk and a 3-0 rout of NK Celje — the “Rijeka Whites” kept the momentum going. In the play-offs they swept AC Omonia, winning both legs.
Rijeka’s real strength is the break. Toni Fruk has been on fire, the spearhead up front, with big contributions from Dion Drena Beljo and Niko Petrovic. With the crowd turned up to full noise, the Croats will try to spring a huge trap on the French visitors and take a serious advantage before the tricky trip to Alsace.
Strasbourg avance masqué mais invaincu 
On Strasbourg’s side it’s been faultless so far. Gary O’Neil’s men were impressively consistent, topping their group and skipping the play-offs altogether.
Racing are flying — high-energy, attractive going forward. The standout is Martial Godo, a real headache for defenders (3 goals and 2 assists in the competition so far). But the coaches know the level kicks up now. The job is to avoid getting blown away in Croatia and bring back a positive result to finish the tie at the Meinau.
