New York Knicks – Oklahoma City Thunder : can’t-miss showdown
This is the must-see game on Wednesday night. Madison Square Garden will be rocking for a heavyweight clash between two of the league’s best. OKC are steamrolling the West, and the Knicks are brutal at home chasing second in the East. The kicker? Both teams played last night. Fatigue will matter — a lot.
New York Knicks: fortress at the Garden?
The Knicks (40-22) are cruising. Tom Thibodeau’s team is in form and nipping at Boston for second in the East. At the Garden they’re almost untouchable (24 wins in 32 home games). They also played last night and suffocated Toronto on the road (111-95). Toronto’s defence folded in the fourth — the Knicks allowed just 13 points in the final period.
Offensively the Knicks are the third-most efficient team in the league (over 117 points per game), with Jalen Brunson still bossing the offense (26 points, 10 assists last night). Inside, Karl-Anthony Towns cleaned up with 21 points and 13 rebounds against the Raptors and fits nicely alongside guys like OG Anunoby. And sweetening the deal, their defence has climbed back into the NBA top nine. Against a shorthanded Thunder, they’ve got a real shot.
Oklahoma City Thunder: strength in numbers
The Thunder (48-15) are flying this season. They’re top of the West, three games clear of the Spurs. They travel well too (15 road wins, over .500 away). Last night they bossed Chicago (116-108), drawing a stack of fouls (20/24 from the line).
The injury list was overflowing. Without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams or Isaiah Hartenstein, the second unit stepped up in style. Jared McCain erupted off the bench (20 in 25 minutes), backed by Aaron Wiggins (18 points, 7 boards) and a huge night from Jaylin Williams with a monster double-double (17 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists). But the real weapon is the defense: they’re the stingiest team in the NBA this season.
NBA Prediction Oklahoma City Thunder vs New York Knicks
Under 222 points
This is defensive elite. OKC has the best defensive rating in the league, and the Knicks aren’t far off (9th). Add the back-to-back factor: both teams played last night, had to travel to New York, and will likely be heavy-legged. Fatigue should dent perimeter shooting. Expect a playoff-style game — physical, tight and tactical. The Under is the smart play here. Our simulation leans toward a narrow Thunder win, about 110-106.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot read — never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal out of nowhere… and the whole script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no bet without risk. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. Yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable sooner or later.
- Best advice: be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live. And don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should stay a hobby, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, making you anxious or stressed, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialist organization. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and won’t disappear — even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and you must follow your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t hold us liable or demand anything if a bet loses.
Info can change
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. But later a lineup (like the Heat’s) can change, a player gets injured, the weather worsens… and the analysis quickly becomes outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.
