Saturday night, City head to Elland Road with one job: close the gap at the top. Leeds, noisy and stubborn, can still blow up a favorite when the crowd turns it up.
Three months on from that Etihad classic — City won late thanks to Phil Foden — the stakes are different. This time the pressure is brutal.
Leeds have improved… but keep letting points slip 
After the 4-0 humbling by Arsenal in late January, Leeds have steadied the ship a touch. February ended without a league defeat: five points from three games and progression in the FA Cup.
Daniel Farke’s side beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, then nicked draws away at Chelsea (2-2) and Aston Villa (1-1). At Villa, Anton Stach hauled the crowd to their feet with a spectacular long-range free kick before a late equalizer.
But the same problem keeps cropping up: Leeds struggle to hold leads. They go ahead, sit back, and concede. Since December only City and Manchester United have lost fewer matches than the Whites — but no one has drawn more.
Sitting 15th, six points clear of the drop, Leeds aren’t safe. Recent history against City isn’t comforting either: five straight Premier League defeats to the Citizens.
Still, when Elland Road is roaring, Leeds can trouble anyone. City know that.
City sense an opening in the title race 
A few weeks ago City looked behind. Then came the Anfield turnaround and wins over Fulham and Newcastle. Suddenly the machine is moving again.
Last weekend the youngster Nico O’Reilly clinched the win against Newcastle. Arsenal still lead by five, but City have a game in hand. Win on Saturday and that gap could shrink.
Eleven games to go. The simple question: can this rebuilt City string wins together like they used to? Recent signs point the right way.
Stats are comforting: City often perform when they play before Arsenal and they’re ruthless against promoted sides. That said, Leeds are one of the few promoted teams to have surprised City recently.
Another nugget: City rarely concede multiple goals to newly promoted teams… except against Leeds. Recent meetings have often delivered fireworks.

Expect chances at both ends. City have too much attacking quality to be shut out, and Leeds have the tools to punish any slip.
Goals look likely at Elland Road. This could be louder and more open than it first appears.
