Charlotte Hornets vs Houston Rockets – Free NBA Pick & Prediction – February 19, 2026

Charlotte Hornets – Houston Rockets: Can the Rockets get revenge?

Beaten at home earlier this month (99-109), the Rockets will be itching for revenge when they visit the Hornets in North Carolina. It’s the last meeting of the season between two teams on very different runs — Charlotte has played like one of the league’s best since 2026 began, while Houston has hit a rough patch. Should be a proper game.

Charlotte Hornets: Keep the charge going

What the Hornets have done since 2026 kicked off is the stuff of dreams — whether you’re on the court or in the stands. Everybody’s chipping in, the roster’s clicking, and they play genuinely watchable basketball. The result: 15 wins in their last 21, rocketing up the Eastern Conference. Charles Lee’s men are now 9th, and if this run continues they can sneak into the top seven.

Any of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel or Miles Bridges can hit 20 on any night, so the offense isn’t the issue. What really flips the script is the defense — night after night. The Hornets allow just 113.8 points per game for the season, and that number includes a terrible start. Since then Charlotte has matched up with the league’s best defenses — Detroit, OKC — and stood tall.

Houston Rockets: Aiming for the top 3

By contrast, the Rockets aren’t exactly cruising. Between patchy results and rumors about Kevin Durant’s burner accounts, you can’t say Ime Udoka’s side are in great shape. They’ve gone 2-3 in their last five. The wins were tidy — Thunder (112-106), Clippers (102-95) — but the losses raise questions: 93-114 to a Celtics side without Jaylen Brown, 99-109 to the Hornets and 102-105 to the Clippers.

Still, if you’re looking at the glass half full, the Rockets will head into the post-All-Star stretch with as clean a roster as they can get: only Steven Adams and Fred VanVleet are out for the season. The break should have given everyone a reset before the final push of the regular season — the part that decides playoff seeding. Houston’s aiming for the top three.

NBA Prediction Charlotte Hornets vs Houston Rockets

Hornets to score over 106.5 points

This pairs two solid defenses, yes, but both teams bring firepower. Plenty of players who can flip a game: Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun for Houston, Ball-Miller-Knueppel for Charlotte. Both clubs have lethal scorers. Expect an open-ish game, and Charlotte should clear 107 points without breaking a sweat — they’ve done it in three of their last four.

First — a word on our picks

  • What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a read of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak moment… and the script changes.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks ‘obvious’, it rarely is. Yes, you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
  • Best advice: be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it almost never ends well.
  • Betting should stay a pastime, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, stressing you out or putting pressure on you, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and it won’t vanish, even with the best analysis in the world.
  • Essential reminder: betting is banned for minors and must comply with your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tensions, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (standard rate call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No guarantees from us

Our picks aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. Bottom line: you can’t base any claim on them if a bet loses.

Information can change

A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and tip-off a lineup can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We can’t be held responsible for that.
