San Antonio Spurs vs Phoenix Suns – Free NBA prediction and picks – February 19, 2026

San Antonio Spurs – Phoenix Suns: big showdown in Texas

The Spurs and Suns meet for the third time this season. Phoenix already took the first two, and they did it by showing one of the clearer ways to stop Victor Wembanyama — frustrate him, limit his touches, make San Antonio work for everything. The Spurs will be desperate to flip the script, not least to pile pressure on the Thunder.

San Antonio Spurs: time to finally beat the Suns

San Antonio ended the first half of the season on a heater — six straight wins. The Magic (112-103), the Thunder (116-106), the Mavericks (135-123 and 138-125), the Lakers (136-108) and the Warriors (126-113) have all felt the Spurs’ bite lately. At 38-16, Mitch Johnson’s team is creeping up on the Thunder, who sit at 42-14.

But Phoenix has still been a puzzle. Two meetings, two losses (118-130, 102-111), both nights marred by Phoenix’s defensive intensity. Back home — 19-6 at Frost Bank Center this season — coming off a week’s rest and with the roster largely intact, this one is circled on Wembanyama and company’s calendar. They want to keep the momentum they built before the break.

Phoenix Suns: the race for the top six is on

The Suns cooled off a touch before the All-Star break, winning just one of their last four. Not fatal. They’re still right in the hunt for a top-six spot — only 1.5 games back of the Timberwolves and the Lakers, sitting sixth and fifth. Jordan Ott’s side arrive in Texas for a tough road test, armed with the confidence of already taking two games off San Antonio this year.

Dillon Brooks will be missing — suspended by the league after racking up 16 technical fouls this season — and that’s a real blow. Brooks is the defensive engine. If Phoenix is in the top-six mix, he’s a big reason why, setting the tone for a unit that ranks fifth in the league at 111.8 points allowed per game. Devin Booker supplies the scoring, but Brooks sparks the defense.

NBA Prediction San Antonio Spurs vs Phoenix Suns

Spurs to win by 6 points or more

Without Dillon Brooks, Phoenix’s defense loses a spark. The defensive identity doesn’t vanish overnight, sure, but Brooks frequently drags the rest of the unit with him. The Spurs are in form, playing at home in front of their crowd, chasing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Against one of the few teams they haven’t beaten this season, San Antonio will be itching to correct that oddity and cover the spread.

A quick word about our picks

  • What we publish on Mathodds are analyses — opinions and reads of the moment, not guarantees. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, a late injury, a freak play and everything changes.
  • Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it can still go wrong. Yes, you can lose. You will, at some point.
  • Stay sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need for life. And don’t chase losses — that rarely ends well.
  • Betting should be entertainment, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over, making you stressed or angry, take a break. If needed, reach out to a specialist organisation for help.
  • Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk remains, no matter how sharp the analysis.
  • Important reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must follow the law where you live. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tension, addiction). Need help? Player Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (standard-rate call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No guarantees

Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In plain terms: you can’t use them to claim anything if a bet loses.

Information can change

A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and tip-off, a lineup can change, a player can get hurt, weather can shift — and the analysis can become outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.

Your role

Before betting, check that wagering is legal where you are. If it isn’t, that’s your responsibility, not ours.

Responsible gambling first

We’ll say it again: gamble responsibly. If you’re losing control, get help. We are not responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published here.

Legal age
