Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks – Free NBA tip and predictions – February 12, 2026

Los Angeles Lakers – Dallas Mavericks: a special night for Luka — except he won’t be playing

The Mavericks and Lakers meet for the third — and penultimate — time this season. It’s got an odd edge after that blockbuster swap that sent Luka Doncic to LA and Anthony Davis to Dallas. Neither will play: Luka’s injured and Davis was shipped to the Wizards just over a week ago.

Los Angeles Lakers: must-win, even without Luka

The Lakers haven’t had it easy recently — a back-to-back against OKC and the Spurs, both without Luka. So their chances weren’t great, and it showed: two losses (110-119 to OKC and 108-136 to San Antonio). Against a depleted Dallas there’s no margin for error. Without Cooper Flagg, Jason Kidd’s men will likely lean on Naji Marshall to carry the offense.

LeBron and co can’t take this lightly — Dallas will be desperate to stop a nine-game skid. The Lakers must win to avoid falling further behind the West’s top five and heading into the break with too much ground to make up.

INJURY REPORT : Luka Doncic (OUT) – Deandre Ayton (questionable)

Dallas Mavericks: collecting experience the hard way

The Mavericks haven’t won since January 22, when they beat the Warriors 123-115. Since then they parted ways with Anthony Davis at the trade deadline and, more importantly, have lost eight straight — sliding away from the Play-In and, if you prefer, edging closer to the bottom of the West. That might even be the point if they’re chasing the elite prospects in the 2026 draft class.

They haven’t had an easy run: two losses to the Spurs (123-135 and 125-138), defeats to the Celtics (100-110), Rockets (107-111), Suns (111-120) and Hornets (121-123) — teams playing well this season. Without Cooper Flagg the task gets very tough, even against an injury-hit Lakers. A ninth straight loss looks almost inevitable.

INJURY REPORT : Cooper Flagg (OUT) – Dereck Lively II (OUT) – Moussa Cisse (doubtful) – Ryan Nembhard (doubtful) – Naji Marshall (questionable) – Caleb Martin (questionable)

NBA predictions Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks

Lakers to score over 118.5 points

The Mavericks have allowed 119 points or more in 4 of their last 6 games and sit with the 10th-worst defense in the league, giving up over 117 points per game. The Lakers will want to right the ship before the break — and what better way than a big offensive night in front of their crowd?

First, a word about our tips

  • What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We offer an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak moment — and the whole script changes.
  • Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks ‘obvious’, nothing is certain. Yes, you can lose. That’s inevitable at some point.
  • Be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need for living. And don’t chase losses — that rarely ends well.
  • Betting should stay a hobby, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, annoying you or stressing you out, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organization — that’s what they’re there for.
  • In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and it won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
  • Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tension, addiction). Need help? Call 09 74 75 13 13 (standard rate) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Info can change

A tip is based on what we know when we write it. But lineups change, a player gets injured, the weather shifts… and the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
