Los Angeles Lakers vs Oklahoma City Thunder – Free NBA Pick and Predictions – February 9, 2026

Los Angeles Lakers – Oklahoma City Thunder: J-Dub vs LeBron

This is a tough test for the Lakers, who welcome the Thunder for the second meeting of the season. Both teams lose their MVP frontrunners — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic are out injured — yet the matchup should still be gripping. Expect playoff noise at Crypto.com Arena tonight.

Los Angeles Lakers: beat the champs at home

The Lakers have won three in a row and eight of their last 11. Yes, the schedule helped — comfortable wins over the Nets (125-109), Bulls (128-116) and Wizards (142-111) — but JJ Redick’s side has also taken scalps, beating the 76ers (119-115) and the Nuggets (115-107).

With Luka Doncic unavailable again — as in their last game, a 105-99 win over the Warriors — the Lakers face a Thunder squad that looks more beatable without Shai, but is far healthier than the recent patch thanks to Jalen Williams’ return. To win at home they’ll need everyone firing, with the inevitable LeBron James leading the charge.

Oklahoma City Thunder: welcome back Jalen Williams

Out for 10 games with a hamstring issue, Jalen Williams returns tonight. The Thunder had lost two straight before this matchup, and Mark Daigneault’s men need a win to keep a comfortable cushion atop the West — the Spurs are hot and closing in.

As a unit OKC is still elite. Second-best offense at 119.9 points and the stingiest defense allowing 107.9, the Thunder remain the league’s top outfit this season despite occasional dips. They’re the only team to reach 40 wins so far, and even without their MVP they’ve got quality depth on the bench.

NBA Picks Los Angeles Lakers vs Oklahoma City Thunder

Thunder to score over 112.5 points

The Thunder run one of the league’s top offenses while the Lakers sit 17th in defensive rating, giving up nearly 116 points a night. Jalen Williams should smooth OKC’s attack; they’ll have an easier time against L.A.’s soft spots than they would versus a disciplined Rockets defense. Clearing 113 points looks well within reach for OKC.

First, a word on our picks

  • What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We offer an angle, a snapshot, never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak play — and the script flips.
  • Let’s be blunt: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks obvious, it often isn’t. Yes, you will lose sometimes. That’s inevitable.
  • Best practice: be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it almost never ends well.
  • Betting should be a hobby, not a job or a revenue stream. If it’s taking over your life, making you anxious or stressed, stop and get help. Talk to a specialist service if you need to — that’s what they’re for.
  • Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and it won’t disappear, even with top-notch analysis.
  • Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family strain, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium rate) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No promises from us

Our picks are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t rely on them to make a claim if a bet fails.

Info can change

A prediction is based on what we know at the time of writing. Between then and kickoff a lineup can change, a player can get hurt, the weather can turn — and the analysis can become obsolete. We can’t be held responsible for that.
