Denver Nuggets – Cleveland Cavaliers: two Finals contenders
Final meeting of the season between the Nuggets and the Cavs two genuine title threats — this could be a Finals preview. Cleveland sit 4th in the East, Denver 3rd in the West. Both arrive mostly intact, a few key names out, but the quality on court should still be high.
Denver Nuggets: get back on track at home
Before their win over the Bulls in Chicago (136-120), the Nuggets lost three straight just after Nikola Jokic returned — a brutal run: Oklahoma City (111-121), Detroit (121-124) and New York (127-134). David Adelman’s side head home (14-10 in Colorado this season) tonight to host Cleveland, one of the East’s hottest teams after a busy trade deadline.
Since Jokic rejoined the rotation, the Nuggets have the league’s best offense, scoring 120.4 points per game. The advanced numbers back it up: 121.0 offensive rating, top in the NBA. The Murray–Jokic pick-and-roll is still impossible to stop, and the bench might be the best they’ve had since the 2023 title — maybe even better — helped massively by Jonas Valanciunas, the most capable Jokic-era backup.
INJURY REPORT : Aaron Gordon (OUT) – Spencer Jones (OUT) – Peyton Watson (OUT) – Jamal Murray (questionable) – Nikola Jokic (probable) – Christian Braun (probable)
Cleveland Cavaliers: a proper test to finish the road trip
The Cavs are rolling: 10 wins in their last 12, climbing the East pecking order, and the new faces from the trade market already look at home in Ohio. James Harden did what James Harden does in his first game (23 points, 8 assists on 7/13 shooting in the win over the Kings), and his on-court chemistry with Jarrett Allen already looks promising. Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis have also slotted in, fixing areas Cleveland were weak in before.
Little by little, Kenny Atkinson’s group look like real title contenders. They sit 6th in offensive rating and 13th in defensive rating overall, but since early January they’re 2nd and 11th. After last week’s moves the message is blunt: title or bust over the next two years, or this project doesn’t make sense. This trip to Denver will be a good reality check on where they are, especially when it comes to chemistry among the newcomers.
INJURY REPORT : Evan Mobley (OUT) – Max Strus (OUT) – Jaylon Tyson (questionable) – Dean Wade (questionable)
NBA Prediction Denver Nuggets vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Cavaliers to win
The Nuggets have struggled lately against top teams, and Cleveland are exactly that — plus they’ve got real momentum. Without Aaron Gordon, Spencer Jones and Peyton Watson, Denver lose a key dunk threat that helps their offense click. Even if Denver still have their two best players, Cleveland look better placed to take this one.

First — a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We give an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the story changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks obvious, it rarely is. Yes, you can lose. It will happen at some point.
- Best practice: be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it nearly always ends badly.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts to take over your life, makes you irritable or stressed, take a break. If needed, contact a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re there for.
- At the end of the day, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and it won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tension, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium rate) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our picks do not form a contract. They carry no legal weight. Plain: you can’t rely on them to make a claim if a bet loses.
Information can change
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and tip-off a line-up (like the Nuggets’) can change, a player can get hurt, the weather can shift… and the analysis can become outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.
