Chelsea – Leeds: Stamford Bridge aims to keep Rosenior’s run going
Four wins from four. Since Liam Rosenior arrived, Chelsea have snapped a wobbling season back into shape. Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge is the acid test: can this new-look Blues side handle another big scalp? Leeds arrive with momentum… but also some nasty memories of trips west of London.
Chelsea: instant revival and the European dream back on 
A month ago Chelsea were sliding. Five games without a win, a heavy mood, doubts everywhere. Then Rosenior showed up and everything flipped. Brentford, Palace, West Ham fell in fierce derbies. On Saturday at Molineux, Cole Palmer reminded everyone why he’s one of the Premier League’s big names with a rapid hat-trick before half-time.
Only blot: a League Cup semi exit to Arsenal. But in the league the Blues are climbing. Fifth, a point off the top four and four clear of Liverpool, they can smell Champions League again. A win on Tuesday would even put Rosenior in rare company — only Maurizio Sarri has won his first three home league games in charge of Chelsea since 2018.
There’s a creak though. Midweek nights haven’t favoured Chelsea this season. Three midweek games, zero wins. Included in that run: a 3-1 reverse at Leeds in December. That perfect streak still looks brittle.
Leeds: breathing room, but away trips are a headache 
Leeds have quietly improved. The tidy win over Burnley on Friday did the morale good, especially after the Arsenal pasting. Three goals in twenty minutes — Bogle, Okafor and Calvert-Lewin — then controlled the game. Daniel Farke got the response he needed.
Over the last 12 matches the Whites have lost just twice. Proper progress for a promoted side that spent far too long near the bottom. The result: 16th, six points clear of danger and breathing easier.
But optimism meets the cold truth of away form. Seven defeats in 12 trips. Just seven away points — that won’t do. Stamford Bridge is no comfort zone. Leeds haven’t won there in the league since 1999. Six straight losses, seven games without a win. It’s hostile ground.
