Phoenix Suns – Brooklyn Nets: East vs West showdown

The Suns host the Nets for the second and final meeting of the season. Phoenix’s absences could make this tighter than you’d expect — and both teams are chasing very different objectives in the 2025-26 campaign.

Phoenix Suns: get back to winning at home

The Suns are on a two-game skid. Not catastrophic, but losses to Atlanta (103-110) and Miami (102-111) exposed persistent offensive problems. All season long Phoenix has been one of the worst attacks, averaging just 114.2 points per night. That’s light in today’s NBA, yet Jordan Ott’s side are still scrapping with the West’s big names for a playoff spot.

They won’t have Devin Booker for this one — ankle issue — though Jalen Green could be available. What’s carried them so far is defensive intensity, mostly driven by Dillon Brooks and picked up across the roster. It pays off: Phoenix allows only 111.8 points per game, the 5th-best mark in the league.

INJURY REPORT : Devin Booker (OUT) – Jalen Green (questionable)

Brooklyn Nets: stop the slide

With one win in their last 11, the Nets are sliding toward the bottom of the East, trading places with the Pacers and Wizards in the race for the top pick in the 2026 draft. Jordi Fernandez’s team just hasn’t clicked. Fittingly, Brooklyn has the league’s worst offense at 107.9 points per game, producing some flat showings — think 66 against the Knicks (66-120) or 89 versus the Clippers (89-126). The likely returns of Cam Thomas and Nolan Traore, who’s been hitting shots lately, could help.

Defensively they look better on the season, but lately they’ve been leaky there too. Over 44 games the Nets give up 115.3 points per night, the 13th-best mark, yet recently they’ve allowed 126 to the Clippers, 130 to the Celtics and 126 to the Suns. If they want to turn this around, Brooklyn’s youngsters need to get serious on defence.

INJURY REPORT : Noah Clowney (OUT) – Haywood Highsmith (OUT) – Tyrese Martin (questionable) – Cam Thomas (probable) – Nolan Traore (probable)

NBA Prediction Phoenix Suns vs Brooklyn Nets

Under 212.5 points

Without Devin Booker, the Suns probably won’t cook up their best offensive night. The Nets are flat-out the league’s worst offense, as we’ve already noted, so everything points to a low-scoring game decided on defence. Both clubs have built defensive identities — expect a grind. Closed game, slight edge to the Suns.

First, a word on our predictions

  • What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It’s our take — a snapshot — not a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak play… and the script flips.
  • Let’s be blunt: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. And yes, you can lose. You will, at some point.
  • Best advice: be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch the money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it almost never ends well.
  • Betting should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, stressing you out or putting pressure on you, take a break. And if needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
  • In the end, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
  • Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Info can change

A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. But lineups change, players get injured, conditions shift… and the analysis can quickly go out of date. We can’t be held responsible for that.
