Chicago Bulls – Los Angeles Lakers: expect an offensive shootout

The Bulls and Lakers lock horns in a meeting of historic franchises. Chicago rolls in brimming with confidence. Los Angeles looks a bit wobbly, surviving on superstar flashes to nick games they should struggle to win.

Chicago Bulls: fifth straight win?

Things are clicking in Chicago. Four wins in a row, Kevin Huerter hit the game-winner on the Celtics (114-111) during Derrick Rose’s jersey retirement, and the record is back over .500 for the first time in ages. Besides Boston, Billy Donovan’s side also beat the Wolves (120-115) and the Clippers (138-110) — solid Western Conference scalps.

This uptick in Illinois probably traces back to Josh Giddey’s return. Benched for a while with an injury, the Aussie point guard runs the show for a team that loves to play fast and move the ball. The Bulls average 117.9 points per game (7th-best offense) and 29.9 assists (3rd in the NBA). Add a pace that ranks 5th fastest, and you’ve got opponents gasping from constant end-to-end trips.

INJURY REPORT : Zach Collins (OUT) – Tre Jones (doubtful)

Los Angeles Lakers: Game 4 of the Grammy Road Trip

The Lakers are hanging on near the top of the West. Three wins in their last four; JJ Redick’s group have looked sharper. That win over the Mavericks two days ago (116-110) felt a bit miraculous — LA was sinking in the third before a defensive wake-up and an offensive push led by LeBron James and Luka Doncic.

Lately the Lakers have tightened up on defense, and it shows in points allowed: 93 vs Raptors, 107 vs Nuggets, 112 vs Clippers and 110 vs Mavericks. To handle the Bulls they’ll need to keep that pressure up or risk being swamped by Chicago’s repeated waves.

INJURY REPORT : Jake LaRavia (questionable) – Austin Reaves (OUT) – Adou Thiero (OUT)

NBA Pick Chicago Bulls vs Los Angeles Lakers

Over 233.5 points

Despite the Lakers’ recent defensive patch-up, consistency hasn’t been their friend this season. The Bulls play at home where they’ve been strong (15-9 at the United Center) and will try to push the pace from the opening tip. Los Angeles can hang in a high-scoring game thanks to Luka Doncic’s ridiculous talent. All signs point to a points-heavy affair.

First, a word on our picks

  • What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share a take, a live read, not a guarantee. Sport is chaotic. A red card, an injury, a fluke goal — the script flips instantly.
  • Let’s be blunt: there’s no risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it usually isn’t. And yes, you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
  • Play it sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need for bills. And don’t chase losses — that rarely ends well.
  • Betting should stay entertainment, not a job or income. If it’s taking over, making you stressed or angry, step away. Get help if you need it.
  • In the end, you’re responsible. Reading our stuff means you accept the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis on earth.
  • Important reminder: betting is forbidden for minors and must comply with your local laws. Gambling can spiral (lost money, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No commitment from us

Info can change

A pick is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and tip-off a lineup can change, a player can get hurt, conditions can shift — and the analysis can become obsolete. We can’t be held responsible for that.

Your role
