Brooklyn Nets – Boston Celtics: East’s extremes
The Nets host the Celtics in the third meeting between these teams this season. Brooklyn’s gaze drifts toward the trade deadline — and, let’s be honest, the lottery — while Boston is locked on the playoffs and, why not, a second title in three years.
Brooklyn Nets: show some pride
Nothing’s going right for the Nets. Beyond a three-game losing run, the last defeat was embarrassing for an NBA side. Jordi Fernandez’s team got trounced 66-120 by the Knicks. A 54-point loss and an offense that looked like a pub team. Even if the front office is clearly angling for a solid draft pick in June, pride demands a reaction.
What made Brooklyn dangerous this season has faded, game by game. They still sit 11th on the year in points allowed (114.5), but lately they’ve been porous — opponents are averaging 119.0 over the last five games. And the offense hasn’t helped: worst in the league at 107.9 points per game.

Boston Celtics: cementing second spot
Three wins in four keep Boston moving calmly through 2025-26. With Jaylen Brown sparkling, the Celtics beat the Pacers (119-104), Hawks (132-106) and Heat (119-114), losing only to the East leaders, the Pistons (103-104). Joe Mazzula runs a tidy system — the fewest turnovers per game in the league (12.2).
More broadly, Boston wins with defense. They hold teams to 109.8 points per game, the league’s second-best defense. Offensively they stick to the playbook that grabbed the 2024 title: fire lots of threes (42.4 per game — 2nd) and hit them at a solid clip (36.8% — 7th). Even away from home (14-9), the Celtics are favorites against Brooklyn.

NBA Pick Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics
Under 218.5 points
Brooklyn’s offense has been missing all season while Boston’s defense remains one of the league’s benchmarks. The Celtics can blow teams out offensively, but given Brooklyn’s recent form it’s likelier this game stays fairly low-scoring — back a middling offensive night from Boston and a defense doing its job.

First, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We offer an opinion, a snapshot of the moment — not a guarantee. Sport is messy. A red card, an injury, a freak play… and everything changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, nothing is certain. Yes, you can lose. It’s inevitable at times.
- Best practice is to be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need for living. And don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or a money source. If it starts to dominate your life or stress you out, take a break. Talk to a specialist if you need to. That’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept that risk exists and it won’t disappear, even with top analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is prohibited to minors and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family strain, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No promises from us
Our picks aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. You can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Info can change
A pick is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and game time a lineup can change, a player can get hurt, the situation can shift — and the analysis can become outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.
