Philadelphia 76ers – Cleveland Cavaliers: Episode 3 of 2025-26
Can we expect the Cavaliers to confirm? Two days after meeting, Philly and Cleveland face off again in an immediate rematch. Both are hot on the East playoff trail. Will the Sixers get revenge or will the Cavaliers do it all over again?
Philadelphia 76ers: Talent, but still way too reliant
On paper, Philadelphia still looks imposing. Joel Embiid owns the paint, Paul George brings experience and outside touch, and Tyrese Maxey is playing at an insane level this season — he can flip a game in a snap. For this one, Embiid and Paul George are listed as doubtful, which could dent Philly’s chances.
The 76ers’ offence leans heavily on isolation, as shown by their low assist average (24,4 per game, third worst in the league). When one of the veterans struggles, the offence becomes predictable fast. That problem was obvious in the heavy loss to Cleveland (133-107), when their shooting simply vanished. Defensively Philly has been solid over the season, but turnovers and a lack of offensive flow hurt — especially against organised teams that punish from deep like the Cavaliers.
Cleveland Cavaliers: a slick, collective rhythm
The Cavaliers have oscillated this season — streaks of good and bad. In their last five they picked up three convincing wins, including the 133-107 job on Philly, but also dropped avoidable games like the one vs Utah (112-123). Still, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland are clearly trending up (the point guard is expected not to play tonight, as are Max Strus, Sam Merrill and Dean Wade). Unlike Philadelphia, their leaders look closer to peak form, which lets Cleveland play with more freedom and bite.
They lean hard on the three and aren’t shy about cranking the tempo. That style carries risk, but it’s backed by actual team play: Cleveland doles out nearly 28 assists a game and keeps turnovers under control. Their frontcourt, with Mobley in particular, can physically match up with Embiid. In the last meeting the Cavaliers exploited those edges perfectly — elite outside shooting and relentless aggression, taking control early.
NBA Prediction Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Over 233,5 points
The two previous clashes between the Sixers and Cavs this season were high-scoring. No reason to expect anything different here. Both squads had a day to rest, so shooting should stay around season norms. The 76ers will want revenge in front of their crowd after that recent blow, but Cleveland won’t mind another win to kick-start momentum.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot read, not a guarantee. Sport’s unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script changes entirely.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, it rarely is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
- Best policy is to be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should stay a pastime, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, stressing you or putting you under pressure, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialised service. That’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility’s yours. Reading our content means accepting the risk exists and won’t vanish, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions don’t constitute a contract. They have no legal force. In short: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Info that changes
A prediction is always based on what we know when we write it. But in the meantime a lineup (like the Cavs’) can change, a player can get hurt, the weather can shift… and the analysis becomes outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
