Oumar Solet will play for Ivory Coast. The Udinese centre-back was named on Thursday in Hervé Renard’s squad for the first time, and he could win his first cap against Gambia in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Solet was born in Melun and came through at Laval and then Lyon. He went through the France youth teams, but he was also eligible for the Central African Republic, the country his brother Isaac has played for in 14 internationals. He is an automatic starter for Udinese in Serie A.
