Fiorentina vs Juventus: four meetings unbeaten against a side nine points clear
Juventus have beaten Fiorentina once in their last five meetings, 1-0 in April 2024. Fiorentina won 3-0 in Florence in March 2025 and 2-0 in Turin last May, and the 2024 and 2025 draws finished 2-2 and 1-1.
That record comes into the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday 8 November, kick-off 19:45 UK time, with the clubs a long way apart. Juventus are seventh with 17 points after ten Serie A games. Fiorentina are 16th with eight.
Both won last time out, and both needed it. Fiorentina scored four at Sassuolo on Monday to climb three points clear of the relegation zone. Juventus beat Napoli 2-0 on 1 November after a run that had left Luciano Spalletti’s job in serious doubt.
Spalletti’s side also have a Europa League game three days before this one, and the injury list is long enough that rotation won’t be a free choice. Twelve names were on it at the latest count.
The prices lean to the away side all the same: Juventus 2.05, the draw 3.60 and Fiorentina 3.50. I think that’s right, and I’ll explain why the head-to-head doesn’t move me.
Fiorentina: 2-4 at Sassuolo, but 11 conceded in five games and Njie now a doubt
Paolo Vanoli’s side went behind to Armand Laurienté in Reggio Emilia on 25 minutes, levelled through Pellegrino in first-half stoppage time and went ahead through Njie on 50. Laurienté equalised on 67, then Mastantuono and Valdepenas settled it.
Four goals away from home was a rare good night, and it’s only their second league win in ten. The record stands at two wins, two draws and six defeats.
Across the last five league games they’ve scored nine and conceded 11, and both teams have scored in all five. That’s one win, one draw and three defeats, so Monday’s result sits against a much poorer run.
Njie went off injured at Sassuolo, which matters because he scored and started up front alongside Pellegrino and Mastantuono. Six players were already listed out: Sottil, Atta, Pongracic, Parisi, Ranieri and Gosens. Ranieri has been a regular starter in this fixture.
Vanoli has named the same XI for two games running and has kept 76 per cent of his team over the last six, so there’s continuity in the selection even with the injuries. David de Gea stays in goal behind Dragusin and Viery.
The Franchi has been a good place for Fiorentina in this fixture, with the 3-0 win and the 1-1 draw from the last two visits. Those results came before this season’s six defeats, and I wouldn’t lean on them now.

Juventus: Alajbegovic and Boga sank Napoli, and Spalletti still has 12 names on the injury list
Kerim Alajbegovic’s first Serie A goal, a 20-yard shot into the top corner, broke Napoli at the Allianz Stadium. Luca Marianucci was sent off about five minutes later, and Jeremie Boga, who’d replaced Alajbegovic, curled in the second.
The win mattered more than most. Juventus had won one of their previous four league games, they’d lost 3-0 at home to Lazio in mid-October, and a defeat to Genoa on 28 October left Spalletti apologising and his position hanging by a thread. A 2-2 Europa League draw with Rennes came in the same fortnight.
The record now reads five wins, two draws and three defeats. Their last five league games have produced six goals scored and seven conceded, with both sides scoring in just one of those matches, which puts them at the opposite end from Fiorentina.
The absences are heavy. Kenan Yildiz has a foot injury, Conceicao a shoulder problem, and Manuel Locatelli and Thuram are both out with knee injuries. Celik, Gonzalez and Grabara are also out, Milik is inactive, and Zhegrova and Rugani are off the roster.
That’s a lot of the first choice attack and midfield gone, and it’s why Boga and Alajbegovic have become so important. McKennie has been a regular in this fixture and isn’t on the injury list. Spalletti has kept 67 per cent of his team over the last six, less than Vanoli, and the Europa League game makes further changes likely.
Juventus held Napoli to nothing with a clean sheet, against a side who’d scored four against Monza days earlier. I’d take that as evidence the defensive shape is sound when the group is focused.
Probable lineup Fiorentina: De Gea; Jimenez, Dragusin, Viery, Mario; Brescianini, Ndour, Fagioli; Mastantuono, Pellegrino, Njie
Probable lineup Juventus: Not announced at time of publication
Free Serie A Prediction: Fiorentina vs Juventus
Our prediction: Juventus to win (2.05)
I’m backing Juventus at 2.05. Nine league points separate these sides, Fiorentina have let in 11 goals in five games and they’ve lost their scorer from Monday to a doubt. Juventus have conceded seven in the same span and have just shut out Napoli.
The case against is plain enough: a Thursday European game, a long injury list and a run of four meetings without a win against this opponent. Fiorentina’s six defeats from ten is the stronger evidence, though, and last May’s 2-0 came from a very different Fiorentina season.
Juventus were 11 points behind the joint leaders before they beat Napoli, so dropping more in Florence isn’t an option for Spalletti. I’d want more than one good night in Reggio Emilia before trusting this Fiorentina defence at home.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
