Six unanswered after a dreadful first period
Ottawa had everything its own way for 20 minutes. Philip Tomasino scored at 6:00, Claude Giroux made it 2-0 a minute later, and Michael Amadio finished a breakaway at 17:37 to put the Senators up 3-0. Then Anaheim woke up and scored the next six goals to win 6-3 on Sunday.
Cutter Gauthier started the comeback at 1:35 of the second period. Judd Caulfield cut it to 3-2 two minutes later and tied it with a power-play goal at 19:18. Early in the third, Gauthier struck again on a 5-on-3 at 1:50 for a 4-3 lead, then scored 36 seconds later to complete the hat trick. Roger McQueen added a power-play goal at 15:19, the Ducks’ fourth with the man advantage.

A rare good night for a struggling team
Caulfield finished with two goals and an assist, and Leo Carlsson set up three goals. Laurent Brossoit made 19 saves for Anaheim. Jonas Johansson stopped 27 shots for Ottawa, and Giroux added an assist to his goal.
The win lifts the Ducks to 2-6-1 on the year. It was only their second victory in nine games, so the third-period push carried real weight for a team that has been chasing games for weeks. Ottawa has lost three of its last four, going 1-2-1 over that stretch.
