From 10-0 down to 27-10 up
Philadelphia scored first, and then the lights went out. The Eagles led the Commanders 10-0 on Sunday night, and Washington answered with 27 unanswered points in a 27-10 win at home.
The Eagles opened with a 40-yard Jake Elliott field goal, then a three-yard Saquon Barkley touchdown that came right after a Chig Okonkwo fumble. Washington’s kicker Drew Stevens did much of the early work back, finishing with four field goals, including one from 56 yards late in the first quarter.
Jayden Daniels tied it before halftime with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs to cap an 89-yard drive, and Stevens put the Commanders ahead 13-10 with 19 seconds left in the half.

McKee under siege
Tanner McKee, starting in place of Jalen Hurts, went 23 of 34 for 212 yards but was sacked five times, lost a fumble and threw an interception. His third-quarter fumble gave Washington another field goal, after a 53-yard Daniels shot to Treylon Burks. Daniels finished 16 of 29 for 217 yards and a touchdown.
The turning point came with 8:58 left. After a 15-play drive, Elliott hit the left upright from 41 yards, his first miss of the season. Washington then put it away with another Stevens field goal, a Rachaad White touchdown and a two-point conversion by Austin Ekeler.
Different directions in the NFC East
The Eagles fall to 2-6, their sixth straight loss and their worst skid since 2012, and sit last in the division. Washington moves to 2-4-1, its first win since Week 3, and is closing on the Giants at 4-2-1. Philadelphia won the first meeting 24-22 in Week 1.
