Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors: Murray’s 42 meets a Warriors team that can’t close
Murray hit eight threes and scored 42 points on Saturday as Denver came back from 23 down to beat New Orleans 141-135 in overtime. Jokic finished the same night with 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, and the rookie Trevon Brazile sealed it with a putback in the final minutes.
That comeback is the backdrop for Monday, October 26, when the Nuggets host the Golden State Warriors at Ball Arena. Tip-off is at 10pm ET, with the game streaming nationally on Peacock.
The Warriors arrive 0-3, the first time Stephen Curry has started a season that way in his career. They lost 105-127 to the Lakers, blew a 106-94 lead with 3:47 left against Memphis to lose 108-111, and then fell 122-131 in Phoenix with Curry, Green and Podziemski all sitting out.
Denver isn’t flawless either. The Nuggets opened with an 84-96 loss in Oklahoma City, shooting 37.8% from the field and 26.7% from three, and they sit at 1-1. Cam Johnson sprained his ankle in that game and missed Saturday.
Both teams played on Saturday and are off Sunday, so the days off are even, but the workloads aren’t. Golden State has played three games in four nights, including a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, and now climbs to altitude for a late tip.
The 2025-26 season series finished 2-2, and the home team won every game. Denver beat Golden State 129-104 on November 7 and 116-93 on March 29 at Ball Arena. The Nuggets have won seven of the last ten meetings.
Denver Nuggets: Jokic and Murray carried the comeback while Cam Johnson and Strawther sat
Jokic’s line against New Orleans included two steals, three blocks and six turnovers alongside the triple-double. In Oklahoma City he’d been held to 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists, so the gap between his two games is the gap between Denver’s two results.
Murray followed the same pattern. He had six points, 10 rebounds and three assists in the opener, then poured in 42 on Saturday. Coach David Adelman needs the second version against a Golden State backcourt that has allowed 43 to Booker and 23 to Reaves this week.
Gordon led the team with 20 points and six rebounds in the loss to the Thunder, and DeMar DeRozan, who signed a one-year minimum deal on September 8 after leaving Sacramento, added 13. Brazile grabbed 12 rebounds in that game before his late heroics on Saturday.
The injury list matters for depth. Johnson (right ankle) missed Saturday, Spencer Jones has sat both games for hamstring management, and Alpha Diallo was questionable with a wrist problem. Julian Strawther sprained his left knee in preseason and was given about six weeks on October 16.
Denver has scored 112.5 points per game and allowed 115.5. Those numbers are skewed by an overtime game and a low-scoring opener, and the Nuggets beat the Warriors by 25 and 23 in their two home meetings last season.
The market sees it the same way. Denver is priced at 1.47 to win, and I’d call that fair given the way Golden State has finished games.

Golden State Warriors: 0-3 with Butler, Moody and Porzingis all missing
Golden State led Memphis 106-94 with 3:47 to play on Friday and didn’t score again. The Grizzlies closed on a 17-0 run, and a game in which Curry scored 24 and went 11 for 11 at the line ended 108-111.
Curry has carried the scoring when he’s played. He opened with 23 against the Lakers, 16 of them in the first quarter, before Luka Doncic (28 points), Walker Kessler (26 on 12 of 12 shooting) and Reaves took the game away. He rested on Saturday in Phoenix, the second night of the back-to-back.
The rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, drafted 11th in June, has been the brightest spot. He posted 18 points, 13 rebounds and six assists against Memphis and 23, nine and five in Phoenix. Melton scored 25 against the Suns, and Brandon Williams added 20.
The absences have stacked up. Jimmy Butler is out until around midseason with a torn ACL, Moses Moody is out with a patellar tendon injury, and Kristaps Porzingis is away from the team with POTS symptoms. Podziemski tweaked his back on Friday, and Green and Horford have also been listed with back issues.
Steve Kerr, in his 13th season, has had to start Lendeborg, Williams, Graham Ike, Will Richard and Gui Santos in a regular-season game already. Golden State has allowed about 123 points a game across its three losses.
If Curry, Green and Podziemski all return, this is a different team from the one that lost in Phoenix. Even then, the Warriors haven’t beaten Denver at Ball Arena in either visit last season, losing by 25 and 23.

Our prediction: Denver Nuggets to win (odds 1.47)
Golden State is playing its fourth game in six nights, at altitude, with three rotation players out long term and three more nursing backs. Denver has Jokic coming off a 35-15-10 night and Murray coming off 42, and it beat the Warriors by 25 and 23 at home last season.
Curry is the reason to hesitate. He can win a game on his own, and Golden State had Memphis beaten until the final four minutes on Friday. But that collapse came at home against a team the Warriors should handle, and Denver’s starting group is much stronger than the one that went 17-0 on them.
At 1.47 the Nuggets moneyline is the pick. I’d want a much bigger price before backing a team that hasn’t finished a game this season.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
