NBA: LeBron sits out Bucks game with lower back management

Back management keeps James out

LeBron James will not play Saturday night when the Milwaukee Bucks visit Philadelphia. The 76ers listed him as out with lower back management, a tag that covers the sciatica he has been playing around since the start of the 2025-26 season.

The 41-year-old has suited up twice for his new team, averaging 33.5 minutes, 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Philadelphia is 2-0 in those games, so the staff is protecting a hot start as much as a sore back.

A thin Sixers rotation

James is not the only name on the injury report. Dominick Barlow (back), Tacko Fall (quad) and Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) are also out, which leaves the home side stretched on a night it would rather lean on its star.

The Sixers opened by beating the defending champion New York Knicks 106-100 on Tuesday. Two nights later they erased a 29-point deficit to beat Cleveland 114-106. Saturday is the second game of a three-game homestand, and the Bucks arrive with a chance to catch a team short of bodies.
