A Suns team coming off a blowout
Phoenix is not arriving in better shape. The Suns lost 124-83 at Portland on Wednesday, trailing 43-12 after the first quarter and by as many as 52. Coach Jordan Ott said they “absolutely got blitzed.” They shot 35.7 percent and were outrebounded 56-39 while Portland hit 19 of 47 threes.
Devin Booker had 23 points. Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and Miles Bridges combined for 11 made field goals on 34 attempts. With Mark Williams out with a left shoulder injury, Khaman Maluach and Oso Ighodaro are expected to share the post minutes, though Ighodaro left Wednesday’s game with an apparent hip injury and his status is unknown.
Injuries and recent history
Golden State is without Kristaps Porzingis for the foreseeable future because of an undisclosed health issue, and Charles Bassey (knee) has missed two straight. Brandin Podziemski and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg each scored 18 against Memphis. These teams last met in the play-in round on April 17, when the Suns won 111-96 to eliminate Golden State.
