Seattle Kraken vs Minnesota Wild: Kaprizov’s 11 goals against a 68.8% penalty kill
Seattle sits third in the Pacific Division at 7-3-1. Minnesota is second in the Central at 6-3-2, and the two teams meet at Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday after very different weeks.
The Kraken lost 8-3 to Florida last Saturday, then beat Detroit 4-3 in a shootout on Tuesday and Utah 5-3 on Thursday. They’ve scored at least three goals in each of their last five games.
Minnesota has gone the other way. The Wild lost 4-3 in overtime at Edmonton on Tuesday and 2-1 at Calgary on Thursday, despite outshooting the Flames 37-22. Before the road trip they’d lost 5-2 to Winnipeg and then beaten St. Louis and Columbus at home.
Puck drop is 10pm ET on ESPN+. Minnesota has allowed nine goals in its last three road games, and the Wild have lost both games on this western trip so far.
The moneyline has Minnesota as the road favorite around 1.68, with Seattle near 2.22 and as high as 2.30 at one book. We think the price on the home team is too long given the Wild’s injury list and Seattle’s scoring run.
Seattle Kraken: three goals or more in five straight games
Seattle scores 3.82 goals per game on only 26.2 shots. That conversion rate is the reason the Kraken have hit three goals in five consecutive games without dominating possession.
The scoring is spread across the lineup. Jordan Eberle, Chandler Stephenson and Kaapo Kakko have nine points each, Frederick Gaudreau leads the team with six goals, and Stephenson’s eight assists are the most on the roster.
Defense is a different matter. Seattle allows 3.36 goals per game and kills 68.8% of opposing power plays, and the 8-3 loss to Florida a week ago was the clearest example of how quickly a game can get away from them.
Philipp Grubauer is 4-1-1 with a 2.77 GAA and a .907 save percentage. Joey Daccord is 3-2-0, with a 3.89 GAA and an .882 save percentage. The starter hadn’t been confirmed at the time of writing, and Grubauer’s numbers make him the likelier option.
Ryan Lindgren, Jacob Melanson and Jake O’Brien are on injured reserve. Lindgren’s absence leaves the Kraken a defenseman short against a forward group led by an 11-goal scorer.

Minnesota Wild: Kaprizov at 11 goals, with Faber, Gustavsson and both Folignos missing
Kirill Kaprizov has 11 goals and 17 points in 11 games. Against a Seattle penalty kill at 68.8%, he’s the biggest single threat on the ice Saturday night.
Quinn Hughes, acquired from Vancouver in a trade on December 12, 2025, leads the Wild with 11 assists. Matt Boldy has five goals, and Joel Eriksson Ek is the other forward Minnesota leans on for offense.
The team numbers are solid. Minnesota scores 2.91 goals per game, allows 2.46 and averages 30.5 shots, which makes the Wild the better defensive team of the two by goals allowed and on the shot sheet.
The injury list cuts into that. Brock Faber and Filip Gustavsson are out, Marcus Foligno and Nick Foligno are both sidelined, and Maxim Shabanov has an upper-body injury. Jared Spurgeon returned against Calgary on Thursday, which helps a blue line already without Faber.
With Gustavsson unavailable, Jesper Wallstedt has carried a heavy workload: he’s 6-2-2 with a 2.19 GAA and a .915 save percentage. Calvin Pickard allowed five goals in his only appearance, so a Wallstedt start in Seattle is the likeliest scenario.

Our prediction: Seattle Kraken to win (moneyline) at 2.22
We’re taking Seattle on the moneyline at around 2.22. The Kraken have scored at least three goals in five straight games, and Minnesota has allowed nine in its last three on the road while losing its last two.
The case for Minnesota is real. Kaprizov has 11 goals, Wallstedt has a .915 save percentage, and Seattle’s 68.8% penalty kill hands the Wild a clear route back into any game. Minnesota’s 2.46 goals against is also the better defensive record.
At this price, we still prefer the home team. Minnesota is without Faber, Gustavsson, both Folignos and Shabanov, and the Wild couldn’t turn a 37-22 shot advantage into a win in Calgary two nights ago. Seattle’s scoring depth across Eberle, Stephenson, Kakko and Gaudreau gives it enough to win a 4-3 type of game at home.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
