PSV Eindhoven vs Feyenoord: the league leaders haven’t scored on their last three visits to Eindhoven Eredivisie

Feyenoord have lost their last five meetings with PSV Eindhoven, and the aggregate over those games is 14-4. Their last three visits to the Philips Stadion ended 3-0 in December 2024, 2-0 in the KNVB Cup in February 2025 and 3-0 again on 1 February this year.

That’s the record Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side take south on Sunday, kick-off 13:30 UK time. They also take a lot of good form with them. Feyenoord top the Eredivisie on 23 points from nine games, seven wins and two draws, with a goal difference of plus 21.

PSV are third on 19, four points back, with AZ wedged between them on 20. Peter Bosz’s side have lost two of their last three league games, 3-2 at Twente on 20 September and 2-1 at ADO Den Haag eight days ago.

Both clubs were in the Champions League this week, and the results went the opposite way to the table. PSV won 1-0 at Porto on Tuesday through Guus Til. Feyenoord lost 1-0 at Real Betis on Wednesday, a day later, which gives them one fewer day to recover.

The market can’t separate them by much. PSV are 2.00 to win, the draw is between 3.90 and 4.10, and Feyenoord are 3.00 to 3.25. I think the home price is the right side of that, and the head-to-head is only part of the reason.

Serdar Gozubuyuk referees. Feyenoord haven’t lost a league game since March, at Twente, and they’ve won their last five away from home in the Eredivisie. One of those two runs ends at the Philips Stadion if PSV keep their own record in this fixture going.

PSV Eindhoven: a thin squad that just won in Porto PSV Eindhoven

The team news is the first problem for Bosz. Mijnans, PSV’s top league scorer with five, is suspended after picking up two yellow cards before half-time at ADO. He’d opened the scoring in that game on 20 minutes.

Schouten is out with a knee injury, and Sildillia, Nagalo and Plea are also unavailable. Van Bommel, Wanner, Lammers and Pepi, who has three league goals, are all doubts. That’s a long list for a side that played in Portugal on Tuesday night.

Til is the reason I’m not more worried. He went off injured at ADO on the Saturday, then scored the winner in Porto three days later, his third Champions League goal of the campaign. He’s likely to lead the line again with Pepi uncertain.

The league results before the ADO defeat were strong. PSV won 6-1 at Utrecht, 3-1 at Ajax and 4-1 at home to Sparta, then beat Heerenveen 2-0 at the Philips Stadion on 9 October. Their two league defeats both came on the road.

PSV kept a clean sheet in Porto, and Geertruida was named man of the match. He’s expected in a back four with Dest, Obispo and Kostic, with Sano and Hansen sitting in front of them.

The home record against this opponent is the other thing in their favour. PSV won 3-0 here in February and 3-0 here in December 2024, and Feyenoord’s last league draw at the Philips Stadion was 2-2 in March 2024.

Feyenoord: 18 league games unbeaten, but nine goals against in three away trips Feyenoord

Feyenoord’s league run is long. They’re unbeaten in 18 Eredivisie games, and this season’s wins include 7-0 at PEC Zwolle, 5-0 at home to Utrecht and 2-0 against AZ on 10 October.

Their defence has looked looser lately, though. Telstar scored three against them last Saturday in a 4-3 Feyenoord win, Como scored twice in a 3-2 Champions League win in Rotterdam on 14 October, and Barcelona put five past them in the opening group game.

Nacho Ferri leads their league scoring with six goals. Zechiel and Hadj Moussa have five each, and Valente has four, so the goals are spread across the front line rather than resting on one player.

Van Bronckhorst has to work without Beelen, who has a broken leg, and Bos, who has a knee problem. Nieuwkoop, Nelson, Smal and Shaqueel van Persie are all doubts, and the side has started the same eleven in each of its last two games.

That last point matters to me. The side that won at Telstar on 17 October was the same one that lost in Seville on Wednesday, and Sunday is their third game in nine days.

Five straight away league wins is a strong record. None of those five, though, came at a ground where Feyenoord have failed to score on their last three visits.

Probable lineup PSV Eindhoven: Kovar; Dest, Geertruida, Obispo, Kostic; Sano, Hansen; Bajraktarevic, Fernandez, Perisic; Til
Probable lineup Feyenoord: Ernst; Read, St. Juste, Marmol, Lopez; Zechiel, Vanhoutte, Targhalline; Hadj Moussa, Ferri, Valente

Our prediction: PSV Eindhoven to win @ 2.00

I’d back PSV at 2.00. Feyenoord have lost five straight meetings by a combined 14-4 and haven’t scored in their last three visits to Eindhoven, while PSV arrive off a clean sheet in Porto and Feyenoord off a defeat in Seville a day later.

The case against is the PSV injury list. Mijnans is suspended, Schouten is out and Pepi is a doubt, and Feyenoord’s 18-game unbeaten run in the league isn’t a fluke. They’ve also won five away league games in a row.

I still trust the matchup more than the table. Feyenoord have conceded six goals across their last three games against Como, Telstar and Betis, they’ve named an unchanged eleven twice running with a third game in nine days to come, and PSV have beaten them by two or more goals in three of the last five meetings.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
