The Orlando Magic are an NBA franchise based in Orlando, founded in 1989. Despite their relative youth, the Magic quickly experienced periods of high competitiveness thanks to the arrival of major superstars.
The history of the Magic truly began in the 1990s with Shaquille O'Neal, who led the franchise to the NBA Finals in 1995 alongside Penny Hardaway. In the 2000s, the Magic rose again with Dwight Howard, leading the team to the NBA Finals in 2009, which they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Magic play at the Kia Center, a modern arena in a city heavily oriented toward entertainment. Today, the Magic are in a promising rebuilding phase, with a young generation of talented players suggesting a competitive future in the Eastern Conference.
