Institutional deadlock breaks
The admin side of this is shifting. Paris Saint-Germain is reshaping its property strategy. The Champions League winners have made it clear they’re ready to go now. The issue on the table: reviving talks over the purchase of Parc des Princes. That follows a direct push from City Hall.
City Hall’s mandate
The Paris Council met on Tuesday and made its move. The decision kicks the process back into life. Emmanuel Grégoire, mayor of the capital since March, now has an official negotiating mandate. The city council wants talks restarted on fresh administrative terms.
The club’s hierarchy took note in a statement on Wednesday. PSG’s Qatari ownership has given the green light to reopening talks with the new city administration.
Keeping the fallback options alive
The file on the old ground at Porte de Saint-Cloud is moving again. Even so, PSG’s top brass are still keeping their land options open. That’s just sensible when the ground under your feet isn’t exactly solid.
The relocation plans outside the city are still on the drawing board. Nothing’s been binned. Massy and Poissy remain live options if Paris talks collapse for good. A safety net, basically, if the whole thing goes off the rails.
