A documented statistical collapse
Chelsea FC’s on-field numbers are getting worse by the week. Another home defeat was added on Saturday against Manchester United (3e). It is now four straight league losses. The overall record reads six poor results in seven matches in all competitions.
The defence under Liam Rosenior has been exposed beyond doubt. The goals against keep piling up. Two shipped against Wrexham in the FA Cup. Eight conceded against PSG over two legs in Europe. Three against Everton. Another three against Manchester City.
The timing tells its own story. Chelsea keep collapsing in spells, not one-off moments. Against City, they let in three goals in a 17-minute spell from the 51e to the 68e minute. It was the fifth time under the current manager that they have conceded twice in under 10 minutes.
A packed medical room and a numbers problem Chelsea cant escape
The squad is in a bad way. Enzo Fernandez has a calf injury. The midfielder had only just returned from an internal two-match ban after a media misstep. Estevao went off after 15 minutes on Saturday. Early signs point to a hamstring issue. Joao Pedro, Chelseas main attacking threat on the stats sheet, is dealing with a thigh muscle problem. His return for Tuesdays match is far from certain. The back-up options arent doing much to help. Alejandro Garnacho has underwhelmed. Liam Delap has managed just one league goal.
The maths for a Champions League place now looks grim. Sixth place, on 48 points, is currently only enough for the Conference League. There are five games left. The pressure from below is growing fast. Brentford and Bournemouth are level on 48 points, with Brighton and Everton one point behind on 47. The FA Cup semi-final against Leeds is the only real escape route left in a 2025-2026 season that is threatening to slip away.
Public anger at the corporate setup
The mood around the club is turning toxic. Stamford Bridge fans have been walking out 10 minutes before full time, while chants aimed directly at the coach have become routine.
The discontent is also aimed at BlueCo, the holding company. A crowd of 500 to 1000 people gathered before the visit of Manchester United. The protest has also gone international. Representatives from RC Strasbourg supporter groups, including Ultra Boys 90, Kop Ciel et Blanc, the Federation of RCS supporters and the Paris branch, joined the London march.
The ‘NotAProjectCFC’ protest group is coordinating the campaign. In a formal statement, it made clear this is about more than results on the pitch. The group accused the ownership model of failing and said trust in the leadership of the company has been completely shattered.
