Game result and first half
The San Antonio Spurs took on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Texas side came out on top in Game 2 of the series, winning 133 to 95. The teams are now tied at one win apiece. At one stage, the gap between the two sides stretched to 47 points.
Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox scored the Spurs’ first 11 points. Shooting was ugly early on. Minnesota was below 30 percent. San Antonio stayed under 40 percent. The first quarter ended 24 to 17, and the Spurs soon cranked up the pressure at the offensive end. They put together a 15-2 run before the break to go in 59 to 35 up at half-time.

The margin kept growing in the third quarter. Julian Champagnie knocked down three straight three-pointers. The score reached 96 to 58. Coaches emptied the benches before the final buzzer.
Victor Wembanyama finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks. Stephon Castle posted 21 points. De’Aaron Fox added 16. Dylan Harper chipped in with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the Texas side.

Minnesota’s numbers and what’s next
Minnesota logged its lowest-scoring half of the season with 35 points. The team stats show 22 turnovers. They hit 9 of 30 from three-point range. Their defence gave up 74 points across the second and third quarters combined.
Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle scored 12 points each. Game 3 is set for two days from now in Minneapolis.
