Manfred ends the Grand Teton idea
Major League Baseball has dropped Grand Teton National Park from its list of possible neutral-site venues. Commissioner Rob Manfred said so in a letter obtained by The Athletic, and he did not soften it. “It has become clear the local community does not want us to continue evaluating Grand Teton National Park as a potential site,” he wrote.
The letter goes one step further. “We obviously would not bring a game to a community that has concerns about the venue, and will not continue to evaluate Grand Teton National Park as a potential site.” No pause, no review period. The league walked away.

How the idea got this far
The Washington Post first reported that MLB was looking at three national park locations for a game. Grand Teton was one of them, and it is now out.
The league has had no shortage of unusual stages lately. Neutral-site games have gone to the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville, Iowa, the Little League World Series complex in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee and Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.
The venue Manfred wants back
When he talked about repeating one of those events, Manfred pointed to Alabama. “One that I would like to do again, to tell you the truth, is Rickwood. I thought Rickwood was fantastic. It’s an important part of the history of the Negro Leagues and baseball, generally, and we’d like to be back there.”
The reporting does not say whether the other two park sites are still under review.
