Sam Leavitt ran the offense efficiently, completing 17 of 23 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns despite playing through a calf injury suffered in the first half. He stayed on the field and kept delivering, connecting with Jackson Harris twice for 163 receiving yards. A Third Quarter That Buried the Aggies

The loss drops Texas A&M to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in SEC play, a stretch that now includes back-to-back defeats after a 31-21 loss to Kentucky in which the Aggies were outscored 21-0 in the third quarter alone. For LSU, the win pushes the Tigers to 3-1 and 1-1 in conference play, proof that last week’s slip against Ole Miss was a blip rather than a trend. Leavitt’s health will be the story to watch heading into next week, but for one Saturday in Baton Rouge, LSU looked like the team many expected before the season began.
