A value that has tripled in eight months
Darryl Bakola is only 18, but his file is already getting heavier by the week. According to Foot Mercato, Juventus are closely monitoring the Sassuolo midfielder, whose price tag has now climbed to 30 million euros. Not bad for a player whose rise has been so quick it makes your head spin.
Developed at Marseille, Bakola never quite managed to nail down a regular spot in Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Still, the Italian coach handed him a few precious minutes in the Champions League against Newcastle, where the young midfielder set up Aubameyang. That was enough for plenty of observers to sit up and take notice.

From 10 to 30 million in one summer
Marseille eventually sold him to Sassuolo in January 2026 for 10 million euros plus 2 million in add-ons. A hefty fee for such a young player, yes, but it now looks modest given the progress he has made since arriving in Serie A. His value has tripled in just a few months, fuelled by a strong start to the 2026-2027 season in black and green.
Juventus’ interest is no accident. Giovanni Carnevali, the former sporting director at Sassuolo, has joined Juventus and now helps shape part of the Turin club’s recruitment work. He knows the Bakola file better than anyone, having followed him closely from Reggio Emilia.
Plenty of competition already
Juventus are not alone in this race. Roma are also keeping tabs on the player, while several English clubs have been sending scouts to watch him. If Bakola keeps this up at Sassuolo, the price is only going one way.
