A quarter stake could change hands
Stephen Ross is talking business. The Miami Dolphins owner is in discussions with Otro Capital about selling a 20% stake in the Miami Grand Prix, a report from Front Office Sports revealed on Thursday. Nothing is signed.
Ross also owns Hard Rock Stadium. Its parking lots and surrounding roads became the Miami International Autodrome for Formula 1’s 2022 arrival. Five races run there since, and counting.
Try it for $0.99.
Not a full sale. Not yet.
Otro would only be buying a slice. Ross keeps the rest, according to Front Office Sports. Nobody has put a public number on the event’s value, so pricing that 20% is guesswork for now.
Kimi Antonelli won this year’s race. The Italian’s breakout victory raised the event’s profile even further. Miami now sits comfortably alongside Europe’s classic rounds on the calendar.
Otro already has a foot in the paddock
This wouldn’t be Otro Capital’s first Formula 1 move. The fund already holds a stake in Alpine, sixth in the current constructors’ standings. This year it also backed Crimson Brand Partners, the group running commercial operations for the University of Utah’s athletics department.
Two deals, one theme: American sport, its rights, its money. Miami could be next, if these talks go anywhere.
