Two more names off a thinning roster
San Francisco placed first baseman Bryce Eldridge and right fielder Jung Hoo Lee on the injured list on Monday. The Giants now have two members of their Opening Day roster still active with the club.
Eldridge went on the seven-day concussion list after getting hurt in the team’s Los Angeles hotel on Friday. He sat out the three games the Dodgers swept. The move is retroactive to Friday, which leaves the door open for a return before the season closes this weekend, though manager Tony Vitello told reporters the 21-year-old will probably be shut down instead.
Lee drew the 10-day IL with a groin contusion, and his season is over. He walked off in the seventh inning of Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to the Dodgers, one inning after fouling a pitch off himself.

What the Giants lose
Eldridge ends the year batting .269 with a .364 on-base percentage and a .461 slugging mark, 17 home runs and 57 RBIs across 107 games. That is a full season of production from a hitter who managed .107 and no homers across his first 10 major league games in 2025.
Lee closes his third year in San Francisco at .276/.320/.404 with 10 homers and 57 RBIs in 143 games. Over three seasons with the Giants he owns a .270/.322/.397 line, 20 home runs and 120 RBIs in 330 appearances.
Right-hander Landen Roupp and shortstop Christian Koss are the only players left on the active roster who were with the club in March, and neither started the opener against the Yankees on March 25. The rest went at the trade deadline or onto the injured list.
Two arrivals, both straight into the lineup
San Francisco filled the holes by activating infielder Marcelo Mayer and promoting outfielder Bo Davidson from Triple-A Sacramento. Both walked into Monday night’s lineup against Minnesota. Davidson hit third, played right field and singled in his first major league at-bat. Mayer took the cleanup spot as designated hitter.
Davidson hit .290 with 29 home runs, 94 RBIs and 20 stolen bases across Double-A Richmond and Sacramento this season. Mayer, acquired from Boston on Aug. 3 in exchange for left-hander Erik Miller, had not played a major league game since late June because of left arm and right foot injuries. Left-hander Philip Abner was designated for assignment to clear the 40-man spot.
