Five goals before half-time
Fenerbahce blew Eyupspor away 8-0 on Sunday in Super Lig round 6. It was all over by half-time. Five goals in 45 minutes, then a second half that changed nothing about the balance of power.
Mason Greenwood got the party started from the penalty spot in the 4th minute. Vedat Muriqi followed three minutes later, then struck again in the 21st. Matteo Guendouzi made it four in the 38th, before Irfan Kahveci added the fifth in first-half stoppage time.

Muriqi completed his four-goal haul after the break with two more finishes, in the 47th and 55th minutes. Four goals in one match for the Kosovo striker.
Greenwood wrapped up his night in the 80th minute. Two goals and an assist for Kahveci: the Englishman, who arrived in Turkey this summer, is already showing exactly why he has been handed such a key role. He walked off with three direct goal involvements in Istanbul’s eight-goal rout.
A bad run stopped in its tracks
The context makes the scoreline even more striking. Fenerbahce had gone three league games without a win. A response was needed. What nobody saw coming was this kind of demolition job.
In the table, the club move up provisionally to fifth with 10 points, three behind Galatasaray. The gap is still real, but the goal difference has just received a hefty boost that could matter later in the season. The real test, though, is whether they can back it up against stronger opposition.
