Bernardeschi struck early, Skorupski gave it back
Fourteen minutes into Raffaele Palladino’s first game as Bologna coach, his side led. Nicolo Cambiaghi robbed Daniel Braganca in midfield, Juan Miranda got to the left and crossed, and Federico Bernardeschi finished it from 12 yards. The Dall’Ara had something to cheer about for the first time in weeks.
It lasted 63 minutes. Lorenzo De Silvestri, on as a substitute, gave the ball away in midfield. Sandro Kulenovic drove at the edge of the box and hit a low shot that Lukasz Skorupski got a hand to and then spilled over his own line. The board read 1-1 at full time this afternoon, and the whistles came down from the stands.
Skorupski has done this before this season. That is the part Palladino will have to deal with first, because the rest of the performance was not what cost Bologna the win.

A coach hired to fix a scoring problem
Bologna sacked Domenico Tedesco with one point from four rounds and three blank afternoons inside those four games. Palladino was brought in to make them score. They scored once and created more than that. Bernardeschi curled a shot inches past the far post on another Miranda counter, and Tommaso Pobega won the ball off Rolando Mandragora on the edge of the area before taking too long, which let Kian Fitz-Jim throw himself in front of the finish.
Artem Dovbyk is still unavailable. Riccardo Orsolini and Oussama El Azzouzi were fit enough for the bench and both came on in the second half. Bologna ended the game with 11 shots to Torino’s 14 and only one of them on target, a line that reads worse than the football looked.
Torino leave with a point they were losing
Torino had lost three of their opening four rounds and beaten Fiorentina in the other. They came to Bologna without Che Adams, Pietro Pellegri and Franco Israel, with Cesare Casadei still working his way back to fitness. They finished with 60 per cent of the ball, six corners to one, and a goal that arrived from an error rather than a move.
Kulenovic collected his first Serie A goal for the trouble. Mandragora, who had lost possession to Pobega half an hour earlier, is credited with the assist.
