A week of anger, spent in one night
Oregon conceded more than 500 yards at Oklahoma State last weekend and lost. Seven days later the Ducks scored on 12 of their 13 offensive possessions. Portland State happened to be the team standing opposite.
The final was 84-0. Oregon outgained the Vikings 723 yards to 103. The scoring ran deep into the third quarter before a drive finally ended without points.
Dante Moore threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns before the night turned into a substitution exercise. Dylan Raiola came on and completed all 11 of his passes, adding three touchdowns of his own.

Numbers headed for the record book
This was the third-largest margin of victory in Oregon history. It also gave Dan Lanning his 50th win in 59 games in Eugene, a rate that has absorbed last weekend’s damage without losing much shine.
The defence played like a unit with something to answer for. Portland State never got moving and finished with 103 yards of total offence. Oregon had allowed roughly five times that figure in Stillwater seven days earlier.
Where the Ducks actually stand
Oregon are 2-1. They opened the season by holding off Boise State 34-27, a result that already suggested the margins were thinner than the preseason ranking implied. Then came the trip to Oklahoma State and the sort of loss that reorders a schedule’s stakes.
An FCS opponent settles none of that. Nobody in Eugene will argue otherwise. What Friday offered was tempo, a clean quarterback performance and 60 minutes without the errors that cost the Ducks a week ago. The ranking committee will want more evidence than that, and the next opponent will supply it.
