Ninety-eight games, one hundred goals
Thirty-nine minutes into Friday night’s game at the Allianz Arena, Michael Olise was upended in the box. Harry Kane put the ball on the spot, beat Frederik Ronnow and walked into the Bundesliga record books.
That penalty was his 100th goal in Germany’s top flight, scored in his 98th appearance. The previous benchmark belonged to Dieter Muller, who needed 129 games. Kane got there 31 games sooner.
“I think we’d waited for a game like this this season,” the striker said afterwards. “We’ve won games and played well, but maybe not at the level of last season. So it was nice to show a performance like this before the international break.”

Olise takes the night
The record did not stay the main story for long. Bayern won 7-0 and Olise scored three of them.
Jamal Musiala opened on 18 minutes, teed up by Alphonso Davies, driving into the far top corner. Olise curled in the third just before half-time. Kane headed home an Olise cross on 54 for his brace. Substitute Ismael Saibari sidestepped two defenders and beat Ronnow on 70 for his first Bundesliga goal. Olise then rounded the goalkeeper on 73 and curled another into the top right corner on 76.
Two more Bayern goals came back for offside. Manuel Neuer protected the clean sheet with saves from Janik Haberer and Tom Rothe. A sold-out 75,000 watched it in special Oktoberfest kits, the night before the festival opened across the city.
Union find no way through
Mauro Lustrinelli’s side squeezed the space for half an hour and still went in 3-0 down. “We gave them very little space in the first half, but they still scored two great long-range goals, plus the penalty,” the Union coach said. “We then made too many individual mistakes and were simply punished.”
Captain Christopher Trimmel was blunter about where his club sits. Bayern had already put five past Stuttgart and Bodo/Glimt this season, he pointed out, and Union are “not an established team, to be honest.”
Matchday 4 closes with the international break next, and Bayern do not play again until 10 October at Augsburg. Kane will have another number in view by then. He reached 100 combined league goals and assists in 78 outings last season, a mark nobody had approached either.
