The first half was the whole game
Angel Reese did not wait around. The Atlanta big put up 19 of her 30 points before halftime on Wednesday night in College Park, and the Dream ran away with it, 103-59 over the Connecticut Sun. Biggest winning margin of the season for the Georgia club.
One stretch did the damage. Atlanta led 22-17 after 10 minutes, nothing alarming. Then Reese reeled off five straight to make it 39-25, and two more layups took it to 43-28. Ashlon Jackson dropped a three in between, but the shape of the night was already set. 45-35 at the break.
Reese finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. Rhyne Howard added 10 points, 8 assists and 4 steals, which is about as good a summary of her current control as any. Allisha Gray, Madina Okot and Te-Hina Paopao each chipped in 10. Five players in double figures, and that kind of spread is what teams want as the standings start to firm up.

Connecticut stopped competing after halftime
The second half was a procession. Charlisse Leger-Walker got the Sun within 52-37. Reese answered with a hook that triggered a 6-0 run. Isobel Borlase and Okot came off the bench and pushed the gap to 25. Naz Hillmon hit a three, then Paopao and Okot closed the third at 76-46.
The fourth went 27-13 Atlanta. Across the entire second half Connecticut managed 24 points. Three of 20 from deep. There was never a route back.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa led the Sun with 13. Saniya Rivers, Raegan Beers and Ashlon Jackson had 9 apiece. Fourth straight loss for a team now 10-31.
Atlanta keep stacking blowouts
The Dream sit 27-14, winners of six of their last seven. The regular season is thinning out, and Atlanta are piling up lopsided results exactly when seeding starts to matter. Reese keeps alternating between 30-point nights and the rebounding work that has shaped her whole year.
