Europa League: Sturm Graz v Rennes, kick-off time and TV channel tonight

Rennes set for a 9pm kickoff at the Merkur Arena

Rennes are back on the continental stage this Wednesday, September 16, in Graz, on the Merkur Arena pitch. Kickoff is at 9:00pm local time in France for the opening matchday of the Europa League league phase.

This is no gentle introduction. Sturm Graz have become regulars in European competition in recent seasons, backed by a loud home crowd and a ground where few teams leave with much to brag about. The Breton side start away from home in an eight-game stretch where every point matters if they want to avoid February’s playoff detour.

One small scheduling wrinkle: the opening round is split across Wednesday and Thursday. That means the Bretons share the night with Olympique Lyonnais, who are in action at the same time in Brussels, before the competition shifts back into its Thursday slot. The kickoff, though, is the standard midweek European one.
