Sixteen minutes to blow it apart
Two goals down inside 16 minutes. At San Siro. Against Udinese.
Abankwah struck in the 8th minute, Ekkelenkamp doubled the lead in the 16th, and the stadium quickly realised it was in for a long night. Inter had just lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League. This looked like another wobble.
Then Carlos Augusto unleashed a rocket in the 26th minute. Nine minutes later, Barella dragged them level. By the time 35 minutes had gone, there had already been four goals.

Thuram finishes the job, Esposito seals it
The second half turned on one move. Diouf picked out Marcus Thuram, who drilled it across goal in the 58th minute. Inter were in front for the first time all night.
Pio Esposito wrapped it up in the 74th minute. Inter ended up with five goals, thanks to Carlos Augusto, Barella, Thuram and Esposito. Udinese hit back three times. The 5-3 scoreline barely scratches the surface of the chaos.
And spare a thought for Okoye. The Udinese keeper kept his side in it for far longer than they deserved, with saves from Thuram and then Mkhitaryan. Without him, this would have got ugly much earlier.
A hot bench, and a coach sent off
It was no quiet night on the touchline either. Kolarov, Cristian Chivu’s assistant, was shown red in the 19th minute after a furious protest. You do not see that every day.
In the injury department, John Stones pulled up in full stride in the 61st minute with a thigh problem after contact with Davis. Pavard came on a few minutes later. No word yet on how serious it is.
Inter now have four wins from four league games and stay right on the pace at the top. But one question lingers, as it did before kick-off: how does a team that wins everything end up shipping three against Udinese?
