It was all over before the first corner
Three riders on the front row. None of them at the finish.
Senna Agius was on pole at Misano, after setting a new all-time circuit record in Q2, a 1’33.718. At the start, he drifted across to the other side of the track. Daniel Holgado grabbed the lead. Angel Piqueras, another rookie who had launched from the front, went hunting for a gap. He went in too hard. He clipped the back of the Aspar bike, took Holgado with him, and Agius was swept up in the mess.
Manuel Gonzalez had started fifth. He watched the road clear in front of him.

Five wins, and a cushion that is now almost double
Collin Veijer led early on. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider held on until lap five. Gonzalez moved through and never gave the place back. He spent the final seven laps with a track-limits warning hanging over him, one more offence away from a long lap penalty.
He did not buckle. Victory by 2.451s, his fifth of the season, and his first since round seven at Balaton Park in Hungary.
That changes plenty in the championship. Gonzalez is on 232.5 points. His lead over Izan Guevara has grown from 32.5 to 47.5. Guevara stays second on 157.5. Ivan Ortola and Senna Agius follow on 149, level on points.
Baltus grabs his first podium
Barry Baltus was cruising in third. Then came a long lap penalty. He rejoined just in front of the chasing pack and shut the door on them until the chequered flag. Fantic’s rider has his first podium of the season.
Veijer, meanwhile, celebrated second place with a wheelie over the line. Only his second podium of the year.
Behind them, Tony Arbolino climbed 11 places. Starting 16th after a grid penalty, he passed Guevara on the penultimate lap to finish fifth. Aron Canet picked up his first points since round six in Catalonia, crossing the line 15th.
The championship resumes next weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
