Reims climb back onto the podium
Nine goals in five matches. Ligue 2’s sixth round served up plenty on Friday night, and Reims finished it in provisional second place.
Reims won 2-1 at Nancy. Yaya Fofana struck twice in nine minutes, hitting the net in the 29th and again in the 38th. Nancy made things interesting late on through N. Kandil in the 78th minute, but couldn’t find an equaliser.
Montpellier got back to winning ways against Pau, claiming a 1-0 victory. T. Sainte-Luce scored the only goal in the 72nd minute. Clermont and Boulogne played out a goalless draw.

Dijon win a five-goal scrap
The night’s scrappiest contest unfolded in Dijon. The hosts beat Laval 3-2 after a match that turned twice on its head.
S. Chouchane opened the scoring in the 3rd minute. A. Lago doubled the lead in the 31st. Three minutes later, A. Kanté hauled Laval back into it. E. Clavreul levelled in the 73rd minute. J. Tavares then settled it from the spot in the 79th.
Five goals, two swings in momentum and a penalty call to sort it all out: Dijon got the night’s liveliest game and they won it.
Rodez lose their home record
The stat of the night came from Aveyron. Rodez fell 1-0 to Grenoble, with M. Xantippe scoring in the 11th minute.
It was Rodez’s first home defeat in 350 days. That run stretched all the way back to late September 2025. Grenoble didn’t need much more: an early goal, then 80 minutes of game management.
The rest of the round is played out on Saturday and Sunday. Reims already know they’ll have to wait to see whether that second place holds.
