Bezzecchi flips the morning
Marc Marquez had the edge in the opening session. It did not last the day.
Marco Bezzecchi put his Aprilia on top of Friday’s second session at Misano with a 1:30.144, a tenth quicker than the reigning champion once the time attacks came at the end of the hour. The whole field found more than a second compared with first practice, which is what happens when the surface rubbers in and everyone starts chasing a Q2 slot. For Bezzecchi it happened 15 kilometres from his native Rimini.
Alex Marquez took third on the Gresini Ducati, 0.185s off. The VR46 pair followed, Fabio Di Giannantonio fourth and Franco Morbidelli fifth, the Italian having lost a top-ten lap to track limits and needing a last-second answer to save his place.

Two KTMs and two Hondas make the cut
Pedro Acosta was sixth, and for once he is not carrying KTM alone. Pol Espargaro, in the seat as an injury stand-in, used Acosta as a reference on track and came out ninth. Both skip Q1.
Honda put two bikes through as well, Luca Marini seventh and Johann Zarco eighth. That is not a Friday Honda have had often this season.
Jorge Martin scraped in. The championship leader finished half a second down on his own team-mate and took the last Q2 place by 0.016s from Enea Bastianini. The margin was almost nothing, and so was the damage.
Bagnaia 19th
Saturday’s Q1 list makes uncomfortable reading for Ducati. Pecco Bagnaia will be on it, 1.315s off Bezzecchi and 19th of the 21 riders who set a time. Bastianini, Raul Fernandez and Fermin Aldeguer join him there.
Fabio Quartararo was 16th on the Yamaha, Alex Rins 18th and Toprak Razgatlioglu 21st. The grid is one rider light this weekend after Trackhouse’s Ai Ogura withdrew from a second consecutive round through injury. Qualifying and the sprint follow on Saturday.
