Premier League: Chelsea tie Pedro Neto down until 2032

Six more years at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea confirmed on Friday that Pedro Neto has put pen to paper on a deal running to 2032. The Portuguese winger, signed from Wolverhampton in 2024, is tied to the Blues for another six seasons.

It follows a restless summer. Al-Hilal came first, then Manchester City, and Chelsea slammed the door by putting a contract in front of him that keeps him in London for almost a decade.

The club’s own announcement does the arguing: 108 matches in two years, 40 goals, 40 assists. Few Premier League wingers pair finishing and creation like that over so short a stretch.

The man for the big European nights

Two lines on his CV get pushed hardest at Stamford Bridge. Neto was central to the 2025 Conference League win, then to the Club World Cup run that same year, where he scored three times.

Versatility is the other selling point. Right wing, left wing, false nine, number 10, wing-back. Covering five roles goes a long way towards explaining why the Blues would not even open talks this summer.

He is also coming off his best return in England, five league goals, a personal top-flight best.

A start to the season that is already paying off

Neto has two goals since the campaign began. One against Brighton in the Premier League, in a wild 4-3. The other against Leeds in the League Cup, in a 6-3 that made even less sense.

Two games, two goals, two shootouts. Early days, but the player is clearly in gear as his club locks in his future to the age of 32.
