Seven months without a club
Philippe Coutinho has been a free agent since February. Now Brazilian outlet UOL reports that Santos are waiting on nothing more than the player’s word before finalising a move. No signature yet.
The former Liverpool and Barcelona playmaker is 34. Signing at Santos would reunite him with Neymar, who went back to the club in January 2025.

Santos still have work to do
There is a reason the club wants more quality in the final third. Santos sit 13th in the Brazilian top flight, alive in the chase for a Copa Sudamericana berth but only seven points above the relegation places with 13 rounds to play.
The recruitment department has already moved this window, adding Everton, Arthur Melo, Rodinei and Lima. Coutinho would be one more name on a list the club is trying to finish.
Paths that keep crossing
The two know each other. Brazil team-mates for years, club team-mates at Barcelona between 2018 and 2019. And Santos is where Neymar grew up.
Nothing official has come from the club or the player’s camp so far.
