MLS: Moreno’s 84th-minute strike sinks Minnesota again

Six minutes left, and Dallas found the winner

Santiago Moreno decided it in Saint Paul. The Colombian scored in the 84th to give FC Dallas a 2-1 win at Minnesota United.

Samuel Sarver started it, clipping a ball into the edge of the box where Moreno was standing entirely alone. One touch to control, a cut inside, then a right-footed finish into the left corner. Third of the season for him.

Dallas are up to 40 points (11-6-7), four wins from their last six, and 7-4-3 on the road. Jonathan Sirois had one save to make all night.

Kaick scores again, and Musa was not even there

Dallas had already been in front since the 62nd. Kaick swept in a Joaquin Valiente cross with his right foot, seven minutes after ballooning a left-footed effort over the bar.

Third goal of the season for the Brazilian, second game running. Valiente picked up his 11th assist, dragging three defenders towards the right touchline before rolling it back to Kaick near the spot.

Petar Musa, joint top scorer in MLS, sat this one out with an upper-body problem. Three minutes after the opener Ramiro nearly made it two, only for Morris Duggan to clear off the line.

Nine home games without a win for the Loons

Kelvin Yeboah gave Minnesota something in the 73rd, reacting quickest when his own shot bounced back off the left post and stabbing it in left-footed. Twelfth of the season, fourth in four matches.

It bought them nothing. Minnesota (7-9-8, 29 points) have gone nine at home without a win, four losses and five draws. Drake Callender made three saves.

Conceding first has become the routine. Six matches in a row now, and 13 of the last 14.
