A final four the event had not seen since 1975
The top four seeds in the women’s draw have all reached the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows, a setup the event has not seen in half a century. Aryna Sabalenka faces Jessica Pegula again, having beaten her in the final on this same court in 2024. The other semi pits Coco Gauff against Elena Rybakina, who will also reclaim the world No. 1 spot at the end of the event, for the first time since October 2024.
Sabalenka dropped a set against Linda Noskova in the quarter-finals (7-6, 3-6, 7-6) before sealing her place. The match is due to start at 19:00 local time in New York, which is 01:00 in France, in the early hours of Thursday 10 September into Friday 11 September. It is the first of the two semi-finals on the Arthur Ashe Stadium schedule, with the second following straight after.

Eurosport in control, HBO Max adds support
The New York Grand Slam is still shown by Eurosport in France, with matches split between Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 on a day-by-day basis depending on the US schedule. Streaming is through HBO Max, which now carries the group channels and is included in Canal+, Prime Video, Bouygues Telecom, Free, Orange and SFR packages. For the late-night crowd, the session begins right when most homes in France are already asleep.
