A week after deadline day, Lyon are still signing players
Europe’s major windows shut seven days ago. Olympique Lyonnais announced another arrival on Wednesday anyway: Amayo Seyo, a centre-back born in 2008.
He is 1.94m tall. He comes from the Ivoire FC academy, and the deal is his first professional contract, two years, running to June 30, 2028.

Straight into pro2, not the first team
Nobody at Lyon is pretending this is a Ligue 1 signing. Seyo goes into the pro2 group, the club’s holding pen between the academy and Groupama Stadium. Ismael Jabateh came through the same way.
No fee appears in the club statement. This is reserve-team business.
The height and the contract length tell you the plan
A 1.94m centre-back out of an Ivory Coast academy, locked in until 2028. Lyon are not expecting anything from him this season, or probably next.
Whether he makes the final step is another matter. The competition ahead of him in central defence is already crowded, and pro2 has produced plenty of players who never got past it.
