The Jayhawks buried Long Island University 51-6 on Friday night in Lawrence, and Will Johnson’s two late fourth-quarter kicks were the only points the Sharks managed. Kansas last blanked anyone in a 29-0 win over Louisiana Tech. That wait keeps going.
Everything else was one-sided. 613 yards to 146. Twenty-nine first downs to 11. The Jayhawks led by 30 at the break and were never asked a serious question.

Marshall inherits the job and makes it look routine
Jalon Daniels left for the NFL. Isaiah Marshall stepped in. First career start: 14 of 19, 248 yards, two touchdowns.
No fireworks. Just clean.
Nik McMillan, in from Buffalo, went for six catches and 130 yards in his Kansas debut, including a 19-yard score with 57 seconds left in the half. The second touchdown pass was pure chaos. Jackson Barry got a hand on the ball, it hung in the air, and Tate Nagy came down with it in the end zone.
Yasin Willis handled the running. Two touchdowns, 72 yards on 11 carries, all of it before halftime. His 5-yard score in the first quarter came with a failed two-point try attached.
Ninety-three points allowed in two weeks
The Sharks opened with a 42-21 loss at North Dakota on August 27, then walked into this. The FCS program barely moved the ball in Lawrence.
Luca Stanzani went 10 of 19 for 111 yards and also led his team in rushing. Twenty yards. On 12 carries.
Kansas cleared the bench after halftime and kept scoring anyway, with Jalen Dupree, Micah Johnson and Donald Collier all finding the end zone on the ground and Martin Connington hitting a 32-yard field goal. What none of that tells us is how Marshall handles a defense that hits back.
