The podium goes back to Hadjar
Pierre Gasly no longer has a Monaco podium. The FIA’s International Court of Appeal found for McLaren and Red Bull on Friday morning, stripping the Alpine driver of third place in the June 7 race and returning the position to Isack Hadjar.
The ruling landed in the Monza paddock ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, round 13 of the season.

Three months of paperwork
Gasly crossed the line third at Monaco. A post-race time penalty dropped him to seventh, and Hadjar moved onto the podium.
Alpine went to work. A problem was identified with the FOM-administered timing loops in the pit lane, and Gasly, unlike several other drivers penalised for speeding that afternoon, had not served his penalty during the race itself. The team lodged a Right of Review, won it, and took the third place back.
McLaren and Red Bull refused to let that stand. Both carried the matter to the International Court of Appeal, and the hearing followed last month’s Dutch Grand Prix. The verdict took until Friday at Monza to surface.
Alpine weigh their response
The classification now reverts to the one the stewards issued in Monaco, and the standings move with it. Alpine give the points up. Red Bull collect them.
Alpine are assessing all options and a statement is expected shortly, though the window for it is narrow with a race weekend already under way.
Gasly, in his fourth full season with the team, spends Friday at Monza having lost a result he had already won twice. Hadjar gets back a podium he has now held, lost and held again without turning a wheel.
