Ten straight home losses, then Rumfield
Coors Field had not staged a Rockies win since August 2. Ten home defeats in a row, a franchise record nobody wanted. Colorado ended it last night, 4-2 over Baltimore.
The blow that did it landed in the seventh. Mickey Moniak reached first on a fielding error by Jackson Holliday. Rumfield then put a Luis De Leon pitch into the Colorado bullpen. Two runs, 4-2, and that was the ballgame.
De Leon was making his major league debut. The 23-year-old reliever leaves it with a loss on his record.

Amador starts it, Romano shuts it
Adael Amador had been recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque that same day. He put Colorado in front in the second with a two-out solo shot.
Zac Veen followed with a triple off the top of the centre-field wall and came home on a Jake McCarthy single. 2-0.
The fifth is where the game could have turned. Bases loaded, two outs, and Brennan Bernardino came in for starter Gabriel Hughes. He faced Gunnar Henderson. He struck him out. One batter, one lead preserved.
Jordan Romano handled the ninth in order with two strikeouts for save number 14.
Baltimore slide further off the wild-card pace
Holliday finished with three hits and tied the game with a seventh-inning homer off Jaden Hill. Not enough. The Orioles fall to 69-70, a game and a half behind Cleveland for the last American League wild-card berth.
Colorado also snapped a five-game losing run in the process, though the season still points where it has pointed for months: a fourth consecutive 100-loss campaign. The series wraps up Wednesday afternoon, Trevor Rogers (9-9, 4.38 ERA) against Tomoyuki Sugano (12-8, 5.23).
